Circus Sessions artist Lara Ebata tells me about herself;
How long have you been doing circus arts and which circus arts do you do?
I have been involved with circus for 14 years. I started with fire manipulation, and 8 years ago, I started aerial.
Describe your work as a circus artist? Trad, Cirque, Contemporary?
I describe my work as contemporary. I am interested in fusing circus arts with my dance background. Currently, I do a lot of work that involves burlesque and aerial.
What’s your most interesting/ weirdest gig?

Ooh, so many to choose from! Hanging from a crane at 90 feet in Mexico? Burlesque in Fort MacMurray? Often at gigs, I find myself having the conversation, "Guys, can you believe where we are and what we are doing?!?!" I feel spoiled because I regularly get to work with amazing people in extraordinary circumstances.
What interests you about circus sessions ?
The chance to work with an international mentor was enticing. Also, the fact that it is a mixed bag of circus artists is going to be hugely inspiring. I am always excited by the prospect of collaborating with other artists. So much to learn!
